Club Atlético Belgrano is a traditional club and a popular football team from the city of Córdoba in Argentina. It was officially founded on Monday, 19 March 1905. It was founded by a group of children and an adult woman. The children were the five Lascano brothers (Esteban, Balbino, Nicolás, José and Ricardo), Telmo Baigorria, Ernesto Barabraham, Nicolás Flores, Ramón Quiroga and Arturo Orgaz, among others. The adult was Rosario Soria de Lascano, who encouraged them to create the club, and also chose the light blue colour. It is named in honour of General Manuel Belgrano, the national hero who created the flag of Argentina. It currently takes part in the Primera Nacional. Its greatest idols are Julio César Villagra, Juan Carlos Olave and Luis Fabián Artime.

The colour that identifies it is light blue with white details, with which the crest and the sports shirt were designed, in allusion to the national colours.

Its stadium is the Julio César Villagra, popularly known as "El Gigante de Alberdi", located in that neighbourhood in the central area of the city of Córdoba, and it has a capacity for 32 thousand spectators.

It began its football activity in 1913, as part of the Liga Cordobesa de Fútbol, where it played its first organised championships. Together with Talleres, they are the ones with the most titles in this league, both with 27.

In 1968, it gained access to the AFA National Tournaments, being the first Córdoba team to play national championships after winning and becoming champion of the regional championship undefeated, as in 1986, when it was crowned undefeated champion of the 1985–86 Torneo Regional, the only edition that awarded a champion's title to its winner. To date, it has 38 participations in the Primera División and 15 in the Segunda División.

One of its moments of greatest worldwide significance was in mid-2011, when it returned to the top category by defeating River Plate in the Promotion play-off, sending one of the most important clubs in the Americas and in Argentina down to the B Nacional. After this achievement, it consolidated itself in the Primera División to such an extent that it finished fourth in the 2012 Apertura and third in the 2013 Inicial, with the merit of equalling in points, in both cases, the runner-up, though with a worse goal difference. With this latest campaign, by gathering 36 points, it became the Córdoba team with the best campaign in the history of the short tournaments.

Its classic rival is Talleres (C) and it also has a rivalry with Instituto and Racing (C).

Belgrano is the third indirectly affiliated club to play international cups.

Players such as the following have come through its youth system: José Luis Villarreal, Juan Carlos Heredia, Juan Carlos Mamelli, Bernardo Cos, Miguel Antonio Juárez, José María Suárez, Carlos Bossio, Roberto Monserrat, Matías Suárez, Mario Bolatti, Franco Vázquez, Lucas Zelarayán, Emiliano Rigoni, Renzo Saravia, Luciano Lollo and Bruno Amione, among others.

In July 2014, the consultancy Pluri produced a ranking of the 6,000 clubs that drew the largest crowds to stadiums as home teams across the American continent in the 2013–14 season. Belgrano placed 20th in the Americas (4th in Argentina), with an average of 43,000 people per home match, and 45,500 people in 2014–15 and 48,000 in 2015.

In 2016, it placed 60th in the World Club Ranking compiled by the IFFHS according to sporting performance in the recent period, surpassing the 99th place achieved in 2015.

Together with football, other sports disciplines are practised at the club, such as basketball, volleyball, swimming, chess, handball, hockey, karate, roller skating and artistic gymnastics, among others.
