Sarmiento de Junín

Club Atlético Sarmiento is a sports institution in the city of Junín, in the interior of Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, founded on 1 April 1911. Football is its most prominent discipline, in which it plays in the Liga Profesional, the country's top category. It also competes in basketball and field hockey, among other disciplines.

During its amateur stage it competed only in the Liga Deportiva del Oeste, turning professional when it affiliated to the Asociación del Fútbol Argentino in 1952. Since then it has played in the official championships, winning one second-division title and three third-division titles, and has played seven seasons in the first division and more than 30 in the second. The club never ceased to be affiliated to the local league, in which it continues to take part with an amateur team and is the institution with the most titles, with 27 championships, including four night tournaments and one inter-league tournament.

It plays its home matches at the Estadio Eva Perón, which with a capacity of 22,000 spectators is one of the largest in the interior of the province, and has boxes, a covered main stand, an uncovered stand and popular terraces.

Among its most important achievements are its three promotions to the Primera División, in 1980, 2014 and 2021. In 2020 the club was in 44th place in the all-time table of the Argentine Primera División.
