Leicester City

Leicester City Football Club, better known as Leicester City or by its nickname The Foxes, is a football club based in Leicester, England. Originally founded as Leicester Fosse Football Club in 1884, it adopted the name Leicester City in 1919. It plays its home matches at the King Power Stadium, with a capacity of 32,261 spectators.

In the 2015–16 season it was crowned Premier League champion for the first time in its 132 years of existence, led by the Italian manager Claudio Ranieri. The title win attracted worldwide attention, and the club became one of the seven clubs to have won the Premier League since its creation in 1992. Before this, the team's best league result was second place in the top division in 1928–29. It also won one FA Cup, three League Cups and two Community Shields.

Leicester City is currently one of the five clubs, among them Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool, that have won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the League Cup since the year 2000. Since the beginning of the millennium, it is the sixth most successful club in English football and one of the 14 clubs that have won the four main domestic competitions. The club also holds the record for the most second division titles, with eight.

In the 2026–27 season it plays in the EFL League One, the third tier of English football, for the second time in its history, after 17 years without playing in that category, having been relegated from the Championship in the 2025–26 season.
