The Asociación Civil Deportivo Lara, known as Deportivo Lara, is a Venezuelan professional football club based in Barquisimeto, Lara State. Since 2023, the club has been in a recess of activities because of financial debts it has carried for several years. Before its disaffiliation, it played in the Venezuelan Primera División and played its home matches at the Estadio Farid Richa, occasionally using the Estadio Metropolitano de Lara as an alternate venue.
It was founded on 2 July 2009 to keep Lara State represented in the Primera División after the disappearance of Guaros Fútbol Club because of financial problems.
It is one of the four teams that have won the Venezuelan Primera División by coming out victorious in both short tournaments, and it is the team that has reached the most points in a single season, when it obtained 83 points in the 2011-2012 season, under the leadership of Eduardo Saragó and with the help of players with experience in the Venezuela national team such as Miguel Mea Vitali, José Manuel Rey and Rafael Castellín.
On 1 March 2018, in its first match of the 2018 Copa Libertadores, it defeated Club Atlético Independiente, the competition's most successful team and the reigning 2017 Copa Sudamericana champion at that time, 1-0 with a goal by Carlos José Sierra.
On 15 February 2023, the Venezuelan Football Federation disaffiliated it from the federation and withdrew its teams from the various competitions in which it was participating.
