Deportivo Anzoátegui Sport Club was a Venezuelan professional football club that was based in Puerto La Cruz, Anzoátegui state. It played in the Venezuelan Primera División and played its home matches at the Estadio José Antonio Anzoátegui.
The team was founded on 9 November 2002, and disappeared on 23 July 2019.
The most important title it won in its short history was the 2008 Copa Venezuela, with which it earned a place in the 2009 Copa Sudamericana; it also won the 2012 Copa Venezuela and the 2012 Torneo Apertura titles, becoming the first Venezuelan team to achieve this double, thereby also securing its places in the 2013 Copa Sudamericana and the 2014 Copa Libertadores, respectively.
It made its international debut on 29 January 2009 in the preliminary phase of the 2009 Copa Libertadores against Deportivo Cuenca, with a 2-0 result in its favor. Deportivo Anzoátegui became the first Venezuelan team to take part in 2 international cups in a single year (Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana in 2009).
Deportivo Anzoátegui announced, through its official Instagram account, the decision not to take part in the 2019 Torneo Clausura and the 2019 Copa Venezuela because of the financial problems the institution was going through, and also indicated that it would try to do everything possible to find sponsors who could return the club to participation in the Venezuelan Primera División during the 2020 Torneo Apertura.
