Club Almagro is an Argentine football club, founded on 6 January 1911 through the merger of the clubs Jubile, San Martín Juniors and Lezica. Its headquarters are located at calle Medrano 522, in the Almagro neighbourhood of the city of Buenos Aires. Although its headquarters are in the nation's capital, its stadium, named Tres de Febrero, is located in the partido of the same name, more precisely in the town of José Ingenieros, in the western area of Greater Buenos Aires, and has a capacity of approximately 21,000 spectators. The team currently plays in the Primera Nacional, the second division of Argentina.
It has played only three seasons in the top category of national football in the professional era. Its most important achievements came in the 1937 Primera B championship, after winning that category, and in the 1999/00 season, when it beat Instituto in the promotion play-off, and in the 2003/04 season of the Primera B Nacional, in the final for the second promotion against Huracán de Tres Arroyos; these achievements earned it promotion to the Primera División.
Almagro's traditional rival is Estudiantes de Buenos Aires, with whom it plays the Clásico de Tres de Febrero. The club, for its part, has a friendship with Defensores Unidos and Gremio of Porto Alegre.
