Gimnasia y Tiro de Salta

Club de Gimnasia y Tiro is a club founded on 29 November 1902 in Salta, Argentina, under the name Club Atlético Salteño. Its main activity is professional men's football, taking part in the Torneo Federal A, the third division of Argentine football (and the first for clubs indirectly affiliated to the AFA).

It is the second-oldest club in Salta, behind Club Atlético Libertad (founded on 12 March 1901), and the third-oldest in the NOA, and it is one of the clubs with the greatest infrastructure in the country and in northern Argentina. With more than 5,000 members, its activities, besides football, notably include volleyball, basketball, rugby, swimming, archery, tennis, padel, hockey and pelota paleta. It also has a gym and synthetic-turf football pitches at the grounds on calle Vicente López.

In football, it is the only team from Salta to have played in the Primera División since the indirectly affiliated teams were incorporated into the system of promotion and relegation, through the creation of the Campeonato Nacional B. It took part in the 1993–94 and 1997–98 seasons.

It is also the only team from northern Argentina to have won the award for best team of the interior, and the only team from Salta to have taken part in an international tournament, the Copa Antonio Labán – Santiago 1994, organised by Colo-Colo of Chile, whom it defeated 1–0, with the participation of Barcelona of Ecuador and Universitario of Peru. It also played several international friendlies, facing, among others, Nacional of Montevideo, with whom it drew 1–1, Blooming of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, whom it beat 2–0, and The Strongest in La Paz, where it lost 3–1 on 7 May 1930.

It holds the second national record for matches unbeaten at home, with 49 across AFA tournaments (Argentino B) and the Copa Argentina (between 2009 and 2011). It also holds the record for the most points won in the regular phase of the Torneo Argentino B (50) in the 2010–11 season. In addition, in that season it was declared the best Argentine team nationwide in terms of effectiveness, winning more than 70% of the points at stake.
