Shanghai Shenhua

Shanghai Shenhua Football Club (in Chinese: 上海申花足球俱乐部, pinyin: Shànghǎi shēnhuā zúqiú jùlèbù), also called Shanghai Shenhua, is a football club from the city of Shanghai in the People's Republic of China. It was founded in 1993 as a professional club and plays in the Chinese Super League. The home ground is the Shanghai Stadium, also known as the 80,000-seat stadium.

The predecessor of this club was Shanghai FC, which played predominantly in the top tier, where it won several league titles and the domestic cup. On 10 December 1993, the club reorganised to become a fully professional football club. Since then, it has won the league title once, the Chinese Cup four times and the Chinese Super Cup four more times.

The club's colours are an all-blue kit with red and white details, which are also the predominant colours of its crest. The term shen hua translates literally as "the flower of Shanghai"—shen is one of the alternative names for Shanghai and hua means "flower" in Chinese. Its current majority shareholder is Greenland Group, which officially took over the running of the club when it bought the 28.5% stake of the previous majority shareholder, Zhu Jun, on 31 January 2014.
