Wuhan Three Towns

Wuhan Three Towns Football Club (in Simplified Chinese, 武汉三镇足球俱乐部; pinyin, Wǔhàn Sānzhèn Zúqiú Jùlèbù) is a professional football club from China based in the city of Wuhan (Hubei province). It competes in the Chinese Super League, the top tier of Chinese football, and plays its home matches at the Wuhan Sports Center, located in the Caidian district.

The club has its origins in the Shangwen youth academy, founded in 2013, from which Wuhan Shangwen Football Club was formed on 18 May 2017, adopting its current name in November 2018. Its rise through the Chinese league system was extraordinarily fast: in 2019 it competed in the Fourth Division, in 2020 it was crowned League Two champion, in 2021 it won League One, and in 2022 it won the Chinese Super League in its first year in the top flight, thus winning the title in the top three levels of Chinese football in consecutive years. In 2023 it added the Chinese Super Cup to its honours.

However, the club's stability was compromised when in August 2023 its investors announced the withdrawal of funding, beginning a process of transition towards state-capital management. In January 2026, the club was sanctioned with a 5-point deduction as part of the campaign against match-fixing, corruption and illegal betting in Chinese football.
