Rampla Juniors Football Club, popularly called Rampla Juniors, is a Uruguayan football club based in the Villa del Cerro, city of Montevideo, born in the Aduana de Montevideo. It was founded on 7 January 1914 and plays in the Segunda División Profesional of Uruguay, after being relegated from the Primera División in 2024.
During the first half of the 20th century it came to be regarded as "El tercer grande" ("The third big club"), because of its large fan base and its sporting achievements. It was crowned champion of the Campeonato Uruguayo de Fútbol in 1927, and finished as runner-up five times. In addition, it won the Torneo de Copa 1969 and the Torneo Competencia in 1950 and 1955, among other achievements.
At the same time that it is the 9th team with the most seasons in the top division of its country, it is one of the institutions with the most movements between the first and second categories: 15 (eight relegations and seven promotions), as of the end of the 2024 season.
In the women's branch, Rampla Juniors has historically been a protagonist in the Campeonato Uruguayo de Fútbol Femenino, in which it is the most successful club, with nine titles.
At a members' assembly held on 20 December 2024, the members decided that the club would adopt the legal status of Sociedad Anónima Deportiva (sports public limited company), approving the proposal of the investor group led by the American magnate Foster Gillett.
