Ergotelis FC

Ergotelis FC (in Greek: Γυμναστικός Σύλλογος Εργοτέλης, Γ.Σ. Εργοτέλης) is a Greek football club based in Heraklion, the largest city on the island of Crete, Greece. It currently competes in the FCA Heraklion A1 category, the fourth level of the Greek football league system, and plays its home matches at the Pankritio Stadium. The club was founded on 7 July 1929 by Greek refugees from Asia Minor who had emigrated to Heraklion after the Asia Minor Catastrophe. The club was named in honor of Ergoteles of Himera, a famous champion of the Ancient Olympic Games originally from Crete. The entity is part of the historic sports club Gymnastics Club Ergotelis (in Greek: Γ.Σ. Εργοτέλης).

Ergotelis is one of the only football clubs based in Heraklion that has managed to compete in the Super League of Greece, the country's top football category. The team accumulated a total of nine appearances in the top flight between 2004 and 2015, achieving its best historical finish with a 7th place during the 2013–14 season. Among its successes, the club was also crowned champion of the Greek Second Division (then known as Beta Ethniki) in 2006, and won the Greek Amateur Cup in 1983. Its traditional colors are yellow and black.

Despite having finished in ninth position during the 2021–22 season of the Super League Greece 2, the team was expelled from the professional championship due to institutional problems, which resulted in an administrative relegation of two categories, dropping to the main regional amateur championship of Heraklion.
