Guillermo Brown

Club Social y Atlético Guillermo Brown is a sports institution from the city of Puerto Madryn, in the province of Chubut, Argentina. It was founded on 14 January 1945 and takes part in the Primera Nacional, the second tier of Argentine football, to which it was promoted after winning Zone 1 of the 2014 Torneo Federal A.

It is the second club in the city with the most titles in the Liga de Fútbol Valle del Chubut, with 13 triumphs, and fifth in the league. It also has four national-level titles: the Torneo Argentino B, won in the 2002-03 season; the Clausura of the Torneo Argentino A in 2007; the 2010-11 Torneo Argentino A; and the most recent, Zone 1 of the 2014 Torneo Federal A. These last two achievements gave it the chance to be promoted to the Primera B Nacional.

On 19 May 2012 it achieved its greatest football feat, drawing 2-2 at El Monumental against a River Plate side featuring figures such as David Trezeguet, Fernando Cavenaghi (scorer of one of the goals) and Alejandro Domínguez. The goals for the Chubut team were scored by Gastón Bottino and Hernán Zanni, the latter in the 90th minute. It achieved the same result against Rosario Central at the Gigante de Arroyito.

In the 2016/2017 season it had its best year in the second tier of Argentine football, finishing the first half of the season as leader of the tournament and, in the second half of the championship, fighting Argentinos and Chacarita for promotion to the Primera División, but, with an irregular finish, it ended the competition in third place.

Its greatest football rival is Club Social y Deportivo Madryn, with whom it contests the so-called "Clásico del Golfo".

It also has basketball and hockey teams. The former plays at the Estadio Benito García, which has a capacity of 1,500 spectators.
