CS Marítimo

Club Sport Marítimo is a Portuguese sports club based in Funchal, on the island of Madeira. It was officially founded on 20 September 1910 and is especially known for its football section. From the 2026–27 season it will compete in the Primeira Liga, the top tier in Portugal, after being crowned champion of the 2025–26 Segunda Liga. It plays its home matches at the Estadio Do Marítimo.

Marítimo's honours include numerous regional titles of Madeira and the 1926 Campeonato de Portugal, then one of the country's main national competitions. For logistical reasons, the club did not enter the Portuguese national league system on a stable basis until the 1970s, and made its top-flight debut in the 1977–78 season.

For several decades it was one of the most representative clubs of Portuguese football outside the mainland territory. It remained in the top tier for a long period between the 1980s and the 2022–23 season, when it was relegated to the second division. In the 2025–26 season it won the Liga Portugal 2 title and returned to Portugal's top category.

In addition to football, it has several sports sections, including volleyball, handball, basketball, athletics and roller hockey.
