Raja Casablanca

Raja Club Athletic (in Arabic: نادي الرجاء الرياضي), known internationally as Raja Casablanca, is a professional football club from the city of Casablanca, Morocco. It plays in the Moroccan Primera División, the country's top division.

It was founded on 18 April 1949 by various social organisations linked to the Moroccan resistance. They are popularly known as the "Águilas Verdes" ("Green Eagles"), in reference to the eagle on the club crest, and as the "Equipo del Pueblo" ("The People's Team") because of their ties to the working classes of Casablanca.

It is one of the most important teams in Moroccan football and has earned a reputation for playing an attractive, eye-catching style. However, it won no sporting titles until the 1970s. Its trophy cabinet includes thirteen national leagues and nine Throne Cups, as well as three CAF Champions League titles, in the 1989, 1997 and 1999 editions.

Champion on several occasions of the most important competitions on that continent, it became runner-up at the 2013 FIFA Club World Cup, after losing the final against Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich, precisely in Morocco, at the Marrakech stadium.

In 2000, the Confederation of African Football ranked Raja as the third best club in Africa of the twentieth century, behind the Egyptians Al-Ahly and Zamalek.
