Deportivo Toluca

Deportivo Toluca Fútbol Club S.A. de C.V., also known as Club Deportivo Toluca, is a professional football team that currently plays in the Primera División of Mexico. It was officially founded on 12 February 1917 by a board of trustees headed by the brothers Manuel and Francisco Henkel Bross, and Román Ferrat Alday. Its headquarters are located in the city of Toluca, State of Mexico, and it plays its home matches at the Estadio Nemesio Díez, also known as "La Bombonera".

Throughout the history of Mexican football, Deportivo Toluca has become the third football team with the most championships won in the Primera División of Mexico, with a total of 10 titles, behind Club América with 14 and Club Deportivo Guadalajara with 12. Since the introduction of the short tournaments in 1996, and throughout its history, Deportivo Toluca has also won various national and international titles such as the Copa México on 2 occasions, the Campeón de Campeones on 4, and the Concacaf Champions' Cup on 2, in addition to the titles obtained in its amateur era, such as the Campeonato Estatal Mexiquense, which it won on 14 occasions.

On the other hand, despite being one of the oldest teams in Mexico, with more than a hundred years of history, the professional era for Toluca began in 1950, that is, 33 years after its foundation, becoming one of the founding teams of the Mexican Segunda División, and the third team with the most seasons in the Mexican Primera División. Together with Cruz Azul and UNAM, it is one of the clubs in the current top circuit that, since their promotion or appearance, have not been relegated from or been absent from the top circuit. Its accumulated honours place it as the fifth most decorated team in Mexican football, with a total of 18 official titles.

It is considered the team of the decade of the 2000s in Mexican football, being its greatest winner with four titles.
