UANL Tigres

Club Tigres de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, or simply Tigres UANL, is a football team based in San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo León, that competes in the Primera División de México, the top professional football competition in Mexico. Founded on 7 March 1960, it is the official team of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León and has had the backing and administrative management of Sinergia Deportiva (a subsidiary of CEMEX) since 1997. It plays its home matches at the Estadio Universitario.

The team has won 15 national championships, of which eight are league titles, three Copa México and four Campeón de Campeones. It has also obtained 5 league runner-up finishes. It had its first success in the 1975–76 season by winning the Copa México against Club América, becoming the first team from Nuevo León to win a title against a team from the top circuit. It is the fifth most successful team in the history of the league, together with Club León. Internationally, the team obtained its first title by winning the Concacaf Champions League in the 2020 edition, defeating Los Angeles Football Club in the final. It has also obtained 3 runner-up finishes in this competition. Likewise, the runner-up finishes in the Copa Libertadores de América in the 2015 edition and in the FIFA Club World Cup in the 2020 edition stand out, the latter being the best result by a Concacaf team in the tournament to date.

The club obtained 16th position in the world in 2015 according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS). It subsequently held 8th position in 2016, the best for the club in that ranking.

The traditional colors of the club are blue and yellow. The team with which it maintains its greatest sporting rivalry is Club de Fútbol Monterrey, against whom it plays the so-called Clásico Regiomontano.
