Port Vale Football Club is an English football club from the town of Burslem in Stoke-on-Trent. It was founded in 1876 and has played in Football League Two since the 2026/27 season. Its stadium is Vale Park, since its opening in 1950. Outside the ground stands a statue of Roy Sproson, who played 842 competitive matches for the club between 1949 and 1972. Its traditional rival team is Stoke City, and the matches between the two are known as the Potteries Derby.
