Fotbal Club FCSB, known as FCSB (also referred to as Steaua Bucharest), is a Romanian football club from the Ghencea district of Bucharest. It is the most successful club in Romania both domestically, with 28 top-division titles, and internationally, being the first Eastern European club to win the European Cup in 1986 after defeating FC Barcelona in the final, and the European Super Cup in 1987 after beating Dynamo Kyiv. It was also European runner-up in 1989, runner-up in the 1986 Intercontinental Cup and semi-finalist in the UEFA Cup in 2006.

The club was historically known as the sports club of the Romanian army. However, FC Steaua Bucharest formally separated from the sports society CSA Steaua Bucharest in 1998 and maintains ties with the army only through the historical tradition that links it to it, as well as the ground where it plays its home matches, the Stadionul Ghencea, which, although it still belongs to Romania's Ministry of National Defence, was granted on concession to the football club for a period of 49 years. Nevertheless, today and after the 2021 reconstruction of the Stadionul Steaua (the new name of the Ghencea ground), it is used only by the re-founded CSA Steaua Bucharest and, on occasion, by the Romania national football team, with the Arena Națională, where the Romanian national team also plays its matches, being left for the exclusive use of FCSB and Dinamo Bucharest.

Steaua has spent its entire history in the country's top tier (the Liga I), and has finished below sixth place in only six seasons. At first, the club played in the colours of the Romanian tricolour flag (blue, yellow and red), but the yellow soon lost importance and the team came to be associated with the colours red and blue. Its classic rivals are Rapid Bucharest and Dinamo Bucharest, the latter being the one against whom it plays the Romanian football Clásico.

In December 2014 the Romanian courts prohibited the club from using the crest and the name it had been using until that date, Fotbal Club Steaua București, and it took the name it keeps today, FCSB, thus retaining the initials of the old name.
