Muaither SC

The club was founded in 1996 as Al Shabab. It changed its name to Al Muaither Sports Club in 2004 by decision of the Qatar Olympic Committee.

In 2003, Muaither SC became the first team in the history of the Qatari Second Division to win the Sheikh Jassem Cup, defeating Al Wakrah 2-1 in the final.

They finished as runners-up in the Second Division in the 2012 and 2013 seasons, which earned them a place in the play-offs against Umm Salal Sports Club and Al-Arabi SC, where they lost both matches (0-1 against Umm Salal in extra time in 2012, and a 1-2 loss against Al-Arabi SC in extra time in 2013). Their president, Saleh Al-Aji, filed a complaint on 23 April against Al-Arabi SC on the grounds that they were playing a suspended player, Baba Keita. This was according to the league statistics available on the Qatar Football Association website. The QFA finally decided on 7 May 2013 that the Qatari football league would be expanded to 14 teams, which implies that Muaither SC would be promoted to the first division despite losing the play-off round.
