9 de Octubre

9 de Octubre Fútbol Club, mostly known as 9 de Octubre, formerly called Asociación Deportiva Nueve de Octubre, is a professional Ecuadorian football club originally from the city of Guayaquil, based in the canton of La Troncal, province of Cañar. It was founded on 18 April 1926, although its activities began in 1912 as a Guayaquil football team called Club Sport 9 de Octubre, since, contrary to what has been maintained until today, press notes from the newspapers El Telégrafo and El Guante attest to its existence.

Its main discipline is football, in which it has been part of the Serie B of Ecuador since 1971. Its greatest achievements have been the runner-up finishes in the Campeonato Ecuatoriano de Fútbol in 1965, 1983 and 1984.

The team's name is in honor of the date of the Independence of Guayaquil, 9 October 1820.

Since 2025, the club has played at home at the Estadio Municipal de La Troncal, located in the canton of La Troncal, in the province of Cañar, although it plays some matches at the Estadio Los Chirijos in Milagro.
