Western Sydney Wanderers

Western Sydney Wanderers Football Club (colloquially known as Western Sydney, or simply Wanderers) is an Australian professional football club based in the western region of Sydney, New South Wales. It competes in the country's top football league, the A-League, under licence from the Football Federation Australia (FFA). The club has established itself as a major force in both Australia and Asia, having won one A-League championship and one AFC Champions League title in its short history.

Founded in April 2011 by the FFA itself, the Wanderers were established with a strong community focus. A series of community forums in Western Sydney helped choose the name and colours of the club, as well as its culture and style of play. The club's record-setting inaugural season took it to the top of the A-League and saw the club reach the 2013 A-League grand final. The club again contested the 2014 A-League Grand Final and secured second place in its second season in the league. The club was also crowned Asian champions of the 2014 AFC Champions League, in its debut season, becoming the first and so far only Australian team to win the tournament.

The club's headquarters is a facility in Blacktown, and it currently plays its matches at Stadium Australia and Sydney Showground Stadium while awaiting completion of the new Western Sydney Stadium. Its foundation base, Parramatta Stadium, was closed and demolished in 2017 as part of the process of building the new stadium. A youth academy team competes in the National Youth League and the National Premier Leagues NSW. Its women's football section competes in the W-League. Youth and women's matches are played at various venues in western Sydney, including Marconi Stadium, Campbelltown Stadium and Cook Park. The club also has a powerchair football team that competes in the Western Division Football Division of NSW, with matches played at Kevin Betts Stadium in Mt Druitt.
