Club Aurora

Club Deportivo Aurora, better known simply as Aurora, is a football club from the city of Cochabamba, Bolivia. It was founded on 27 May 1935 by a group of young students, led by Juan Cerruti. It currently plays in the Bolivian first division.

It is one of the clubs with the greatest tradition and history in Bolivian football, and it was a founder of the Liga del Fútbol Profesional Boliviano in 1977.

Nationally, it has 2 first division league championships (1963 and 2008), ranking seventh in the all-time honours list of the Bolivian first division, and it was national runner-up 5 times (1957, 1960, 1961, 1964 and 2004).

Internationally, it has six appearances in official tournaments organized by the South American Football Confederation. In 1964 it made its debut in the Copa Libertadores de América and became the third Bolivian club to take part in that competition. Since then, it has taken part in the tournament on two occasions. It also has four appearances in the Copa Sudamericana, its best being the 2011 edition, in which it reached the round of 16.

It suffered 2 relegations throughout its history: the first in 1988 and the second in 2014. In 2018 it returned to the top category of Bolivian football after four years.

Its classic and historic rival is Jorge Wilstermann, against whom it plays the Cochabamba derby at the Estadio Félix Capriles.
