Atlanta

Club Atlético Atlanta is an Argentine social, cultural and sports institution based in the Villa Crespo neighbourhood of Buenos Aires. It was founded on 12 October 1904. It currently plays in the Primera Nacional, the second category of Argentine football.

It began its football participation in 1906, the year in which it affiliated to the Third Division of the Asociación del Fútbol Argentino. In 1907 it registered in the Second Division, gaining promotion to the top category in 1912. It was one of the founding clubs of the Liga Argentina de Football in 1931 and until 1984 it took part in 45 seasons of the Primera División.

Throughout its history, considering both its amateur and professional stages, it has won 7 official titles in different categories (five local championships of the Second and Third Divisions and two national cups), among which the Copa Suecia in 1958 stands out; winning it made it the second club in the city of Buenos Aires outside the big five of Argentine football (after Huracán) to win an official tournament organised by the Asociación del Fútbol Argentino between Primera División clubs in the professional era. It also finished runner-up in the 1969 Copa Argentina.

Although its main activity is football, the club has several sports sections, among which futsal, table tennis (in the first division A), muay thai and boxing stand out, among others.
