Guangzhou Football Club (in Chinese, 广州足球俱乐部; pinyin, Guǎngzhōu zúqiú jùlèbù) was a football club based in the city of Guangzhou, in the People's Republic of China. The club was founded in June 1954 and played its home matches at the Tianhe Stadium (天河体育中心体育场), built in 1987 and with a capacity for 58,500 spectators. Red was the traditional and main colour of the club. It played in the China League One, the second division of Chinese football.

Originally founded in 1954, it became a professional club in 1993 and its results were modest until it experienced a brief revival when it won the second division in 2007. However, in 2009 the club was caught up in a match-fixing scandal that was punished with relegation. From that moment on, Evergrande Real Estate Group decided to buy the club, which became one of the most powerful teams in China and on the Asian continent. Its last majority shareholders were Evergrande Real Estate Group itself (60%) and the e-commerce company Alibaba Group (40%).

Guangzhou Evergrande has been eight times champion of the Chinese national league, the Chinese Super League, the country's top division of football. It was also the first and only Chinese football club to win the AFC Champions League twice, in 2013 and 2015 respectively. The club was also the first Chinese club to take part in the FIFA Club World Cup, making its first appearance in 2013.
