Náutico - PE

Clube Náutico Capibaribe is a Brazilian football club from the city of Recife, capital of the state of Pernambuco. It was founded in 1901 and from 2023 will play in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C.

In football, the sport in which it is currently most active, Náutico has 24 state championship titles, the first in 1934 and the most recent won in 2022. It is a three-time champion of the Norte-Nordeste (1963 to 1965) and runner-up of the Copa Brasil (1967), which earned it a place in the Copa Libertadores de América. It is the only six-time consecutive champion of Pernambuco, and in 2001 it also won the title in its centenary year, the only club in its state to do so.

Its mascot is the "Timbu", the name given to the white-eared opossum, a Brazilian marsupial that lives in the Zona da Mata, Agreste and Sertão of northeastern Brazil.

Náutico owns the Estadio Eládio de Barros Carvalho, better known as the Estadio dos Aflitos. Its capacity is 30,000 seated spectators. It also owns the CT Senador Wilson Campos, located in the Guabiraba neighbourhood, in Arrecife, which covers 49 hectares and has four official pitches, an administration area, changing rooms, accommodation and so on. It owns a rowing garage, located on Calle de la Aurora in the centre of Recife.
