Bella Vista

The Club Atlético Bella Vista, known as Bella Vista, is the thirteenth club in Uruguayan football to be founded, on 4 October 1920, and is based in Montevideo.

It currently plays in the Segunda División of Uruguay, the second tier of Uruguayan football.

Bella Vista suspended its affiliation with the AUF in professional football at the beginning of 2014, but returned from the 2017 season.

The club was crowned champion of the Campeonato Uruguayo in 1990. It also won the Segunda División Profesional de Uruguay title five times (1949, 1968, 1976, 1997 and 2005), while in 2010 it finished runner-up in that division, and in 1998 it was crowned champion of the Liguilla Pre Libertadores.

Bella Vista also gained access to international competitions.

In total, it took part in seven international cups, of which six were in the Copa Libertadores and one in the Copa Sudamericana.

The 1999 Copa Libertadores stands out, in which it reached the quarter-finals, after winning the Liguilla Pre-Libertadores the previous year and securing qualification. It is the 5th best-placed Uruguayan team in the all-time table of the tournament.

It stood out for providing important players to the Uruguay national team. For example, José Nasazzi, one of the leaders of the squad that were world champions in 1930, passed through the club, as did his national-team teammates José Leandro Andrade and Pablo Dorado.
