Amsterdamsche Football Club (abbreviated as AFC) is a Dutch amateur football club based in Amsterdam. Founded on January 18, 1895, it is the oldest football club in Amsterdam. The club is known as "The Reds" (Los Rojos), a nickname derived from its red jersey, which also features a black V-shape.
The Sunday league team has competed at the highest amateur level since 1961, with a three-season hiatus (1998–2001). Matches have been played in the Eerste Klasse (1961–1974), Hoofdklasse (1974–1998, 2001–2010), Topklasse (2010–2016), and Tweede Divisie (since 2016). Its 33 seasons in the Hoofdklasse at the highest amateur level earned the club second place on the all-time ranking list for the Sunday Hoofdklasse.
In the 2013–14 season, the club was crowned champion of the Topklasse. Starting in the 2016–17 season, AFC has played in the Tweede Divisie. In 2019, the team won this competition, becoming the best amateur club in the Netherlands for the first time in its history.
