Chesterfield Football Club is an English football club based in the town of Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Founded in 1866, the club plays in Football League Two, the fourth tier of English football. The club was a founding member of the Football League Third Division North (now the third tier of English football) in the 1921–22 season. They achieved promotion to the second division twice during the 1930s.

After leaving their historic "Saltergate" stadium following the 2009–10 season, Chesterfield began playing home matches at the Proact Stadium, which has a capacity of 10,504. The stadium was renamed during the 2014–15 season and expanded to its current capacity of 10,504 spectators.

Chesterfield's most notable successes occurred in the 1990s, when they won the Football League Third Division (fourth tier) play-offs at Wembley in 1995 and reached the FA Cup semi-finals two years later—becoming the first club from outside the top two divisions to reach that stage of the competition since Plymouth Argyle in 1984.
